Artist Statement

My current body of work features fanciful color pencil illustrations centered on the concepts of life and spirituality native to the Barramundi, an aboriginal tribe of Australia believed to be one of the last to resist conformation to the modern world. To the Barramundi, every living thing has an afterlife and will continue onward in a postmortem dream world, and every spirit is ushered in with the assistance of aboriginal artisans who immortalize them with simple, geometric drawings. My illustrations pay tribute to these stylistic, highly personalized images made by the Barramundi. Combining my love for creative expression and fantasy, my works strive to convey both the realistic and unworldly into single, harmonious arrangements. As a result, I hope to engage my viewers in captivating images that speak to the beauty that surrounds us and the possibilities that may exist beyond our tangible realities.

Artist Biography

My creative and professional backgrounds are very much connected, as I am both an illustrator and video game designer. Both passions work together to form my artistic sensibilities and methods of execution.
